Ethical code

ILUNION guides its conduct pursuant to the “ONCE and its Foundation Code of Ethical Conduct for executives, middle managers, and those in leading positions who do not have a managerial rank”, which was last updated in 2011 by ONCE's General Council.

This code of ethical conduct espouses eleven core values:

Commitment, Solidarity, Trust, Equality, Professionalism, Humility, Communication, Respect, Responsibility, Confidentiality and Honesty

This Ethical Code is a public document and readily available to all organisation employees over the intranet.

The mission of the ONCE and its Foundation Ethics Committee, supported by the Ethics Subcommittee, is to supervise compliance with the Ethical Code of Conduct and to promote measures for its implementation and development. The Committee is presided over by the President of ONCE and has top level organization executives among its members.

In the course of their functions, members of the Ethics Committee and Subcommittee must sign up to a declaration undertaking to observe confidentiality with respect to the events reported to both committees and to refrain from using the information to which they are privy for other purposes. The Ethics Subcommittee has the power to deal with reports and act upon suggestions in ethical matters that do not represent a significant risk for the organization.

Every year, the Internal Audit drafts a report on the activities carried out by the Ethics Committee which is submitted to the Plenary Session of ONCE's General Council to make the actions it has taken during the course of the financial year known.

The Ethical Code of Conduct is further complemented by "Guide to Ethical Conduct for the Executive Team of ONCE and its Foundation”

The Ethics Channel consists of an e-mail box to which all employees have access over the intranet. Communications must be signed by name and duly grounded. These communications are managed by the Subcommittee, which guarantees the confidentiality of the same and that they will not be put to any other purpose.
